Proposed Trash and Junk Ordinances

As a result of feedback received via the various community input forums held throughout the County, San Juan County staff in conjunction with the a Citizen Advisory Committee brought forward three junk & trash ordinances to the County Commission for approval at the August 17, 2010 meeting. The following two ordinances were approved by the County Commission at that meeting:

TRASH AND REFUSE DISPOSAL ORDINANCE NO. 73

CODE COMPLIANCE ORDINANCE NO. 74

The third ordinance, Ordinance #72 was tabled at the August 17, 2010 meeting to address specific concerns from citizens received during the August 3rd public hearing. A representative from each of the following groups was invited to participate in addressing concerns within the ordinance: Four Corners Drag Racing Association, Junkyard/Recycling Centers, Round Track Racers, and Auto Restorers.

The following ordinance is the proposed revision to be presented to the County Commission for adoption at the February 1, 2011 meeting:
